There has never been a better time to invest in mobile marketing due
to the advances which the channel has seen over the past few years.
This is the view of industry site StraightUpSearch, which pointed out that when
advertisers first began to notice mobile as a strategy, they were keen to
utilise the opportunities of SMS marketing.
In later years, this focus moved towards the potential of the mobile internet,
it said.
Since then, it explained that mobile marketing has advanced significantly,
thanks to the growth of smartphones like the Apple iPhone and the proliferation
of mobile internet browsing devices such as netbooks.
This increasing popularity has been illustrated by a recent study from Gartner,
which revealed that smartphone sales rose by almost a quarter in 2009 compared
to the previous 12-month period.
"Mobile devices are here to stay and so is the opportunity to reach your
audience wherever they may be at the moment," the news provider added.
